20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: This site was created by someone who rode the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Submarine Voyage at Walt Disney World as a little boy and hasn’t been able to stop thinking about it since! This site has some excellent photos and some even better video from the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ride at Disneyworld. Yesterland Submarine Page: This site has a few good photos and is very creatively written. “On August 3, 1958, the USS Nautilus—the world’s first nuclear powered submarine—made history under the command of William R. Anderson, USN. With 116 men on board, the Nautilus traveled below the polar ice cap of the Arctic Ocean, silently and secretly, to become the first ship to cross the geographic North Pole. In Disneyland, less than a year later, another Nautilus, this time powered by diesel, made a different kind of history.” -From Yesterland website. Tribute To 20,000 Leagues Ride: This site has a great photo tour of the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Submarine Voyage. John’s Disneyland Page: John laments the closing of the Disneyland Submarine Voyage and remembers the last ride that he took on the submarines the day before Disney closed the attraction down. (Link is down for now.) Walt Dated World: This site has some great underwater photos and also has the entire ride script from the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Submarine Voyage at Disneyworld. The E-Ticket.com: The “E-Ticket” is a publication about the history of Disney’s theme-parks. This link is to the Submarine Voyage issue that they produced which can be purchased for $8.00 plus shipping. DisneySub.com: Rare photographs, history, and discussion about the Disney Nautilus submarine and the 1954 blockbuster movie 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. 20,000 Leagues in Paris: Excellent photos from the interior of the Nautilus walk-through attraction in Paris. StopOrlando.com: Orlando Attraction help and advice on making the most out of your vacation. Step by step guide on what to do and what not to do at the parks. DoomBuggies.com: Ya, so, this site isn’t really related to the Submarine Voyage but it’s the best Haunted Mansion site out there! “Chef Mayhem” takes you on a frightful journey through the inner-workings of Disney’s Haunted Mansion. TellNoTales.com: If you liked Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest, then you’ll love this site! Thrill Network.com: One of the most comprehensive amusement park sites on the web! |
